Mercury Computer Systems Announces Avizo™ Software Product Line for Geoscience Data Visualization
New offering delivers high-end 3D visualization capabilities to interactively explore, visualize, analyze, compare, and present Geoscience data
CHELMSFORD, Mass. – March
10, 2008 – Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) announced
Avizo™, a new software product line that provides high-end 3D visualization,
manipulation and collaboration capabilities to increase understanding
of complex geoscience datasets.
Avizo™ Earth Edition software from Mercury is a powerful, multifaceted framework that delivers high-quality 3D visualization, multi-modality datasets management, scalable performance from desktop to cluster, and cost-effective collaboration capabilities within a single and user-friendly environment. Its open architecture allows all users to create new custom components for Avizo such as file readers and writers, computation modules, and even new visualization modules.
Initially marketed under the amira® brand, and widely used in the Life Sciences and biomedical research market, the Avizo product line delivers powerful visualization and analysis capabilities applicable across the full spectrum of visual applications for Geoscience and E&P, including seismic data QC, pre-processing, and interpretation; reservoir modelling, characterization, and simulation; drilling planning, flow simulation, and engineering; 3D petrography, core sample analysis, and borehole imaging; and engineering design, training, and simulation.
