Mercury Computer Systems Announces Avizo™ Software Product Line for Advanced Materials Structure Visualization and Analysis

New offering delivers advanced 3D visualization and data analysis capabilities to explore, analyze and understand materials science data

CHELMSFORD, Mass. – March 10, 2008 – Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) announced Avizo™, a new software product line that provides high-end 3D visualization and quantification capabilities to researchers and engineers who require great insight into complex materials structures.
Avizo offers a comprehensive, versatile, scalable application framework that addresses all aspects of 3D data visualization, processing, analysis, and presentation. Based on Open Inventor® by Mercury, Avizo Fire Edition delivers state-of-the art 3D visualization and quantification capabilities, manages complex multi-modality information and handles very large data sets. Its open architecture allows all users to create new custom components for Avizo such as file readers and writers, computation modules, and even new visualization modules.
Avizo Fire Edition offers a complete software suite to obtain meaningful qualitative and quantitative information from the image to the understanding of materials structure.
Initially marketed under the amira® brand, and widely used in the Life Sciences and biomedical research markets, the Avizo product line delivers powerful visualization and analysis capabilities for numerous applications in materials science, including materials characterization, surface analysis, quality control, nanotechnology, and industrial tomography.

Avizo 5 is now available for Linux® and Windows®, 32- and 64-bit environments, and support for additional platforms is planned.
